Visual Arts Division (National Art Gallery)

Established in 1974 as the Plastic Arts Division, our Visual Arts Division oversees the National Art Gallery — 14 exhibition halls, a modern auditorium, lecture rooms, studios and archives — showcasing both heritage and contemporary art for national and international audiences.

The Visual Arts Division manages the prestigious National Art Gallery (NAG), the largest art museum in Pakistan. Located in Islamabad, the gallery features the permanent collections of Pakistan’s most iconic artists, rotating exhibitions showcasing modern, contemporary, and traditional works, solo and group shows, curated both independently and in collaboration with national and international partners.

The division also facilitates artist residencies, public talks and gallery tours, student exhibitions and academic collaborations.
