Kashmir Solidarity Day 2017

Kashmir day is observed throughout the country to show solidarity with Kashmiri people and paid tribute to their struggle and sacrifices for liberation. The Pakistan National Council of the Arts in collaboration with ministry of  Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan organized a folk cultural show on February 5, 2017 at its auditorium in Islamabad. The show comprised of Kashmir folk songs and dances reflected the culture of the beautiful valley of Kashmir. Kashmiri artists Raja Imran, Rehamt Bano and Ms. Bakhthawar presented popular Kashmiri songs ‘ Dekh lu yeah Wahdhi Kashmir’, ‘Teri janat mein aiye gye ek din’,  ‘ mein Kashmir hoon sary Pakistan mein rehta hoon’ and other songs.

Flute master Salmm Adil and Santoor player Ali Raza presented popular instrumental pieces of Kashmiri music. Two documentary films reflecting the suffering of Kashmiri people were also screened on this occasion. In this connection, PNCA also organized a special puppet show depicting the Kashmiri struggle for independence.  A large number of people turned for the show.
